A Significant Data Fiduciary (SDF) is an organisation designated by the Central Government under Section 10 of the DPDP Act 2023 based on the volume and sensitivity of personal data processed, potential impact on national security, or risk to Data Principals' rights. SDFs face stricter obligations than standard Data Fiduciaries, including mandatory DPO appointment, periodic DPIAs, Data Audits, and algorithm transparency requirements. The SDF list will be published in DPDP Rules notifications.
